In Room 15 we have been learning about Volcanoes for Inquiry Learning. We all had a question and presented an oral report to the class explaining the answers we had researched for our group question.
We decided to make our own little volcano.
This is how we did it
1. We got a normal coke bottle and took the lid off
2. We put a white funnel into the bottle
3. We covered the bottle with tin foil to make it look like a mountain
4. We poured in a cup of baking soda and a cup of white vinegar
We watched the magic happen.........
Out came white bubbling lava- it slithered down the side of the bottle.

Potatoes all around
We have been planting potatoes. Today we decorated our potatoe plant with cardboard cutouts of christmas decorations. It looks awesome. This afternoon we are going to dig the potatoes out and put them into a bucket. They are entering a competition to see who has the most potatoes and the best decorated potatoe plant. Also we might enter the ugliest or smallest potatoe!

Sesame Street cupcakes
One of Mrs Craig's friends from McCleans College made some sesame street cupcakes. She gave them to our class and so we put them in our classroom to look at. We check that they are not going stinky. But so far they are not being stinky.

We are having so much fun in our classroom reading the chapter book called The BFG. That actually means 'The Big Friendly Giant'. We have made the biggest giant collage in our classroom and you should read our imaginary giant stories.

Letter from the Queen of England
We were so excited last week as we received a very official looking large white envelope that was sent to us from the Queen of England's lady in waiting.
We had written to tell the queen all about our wonderful mothers and her lady in waiting wrote us a letter and sent us a booklet all about the queen's life. She included a photo of Queen Elizabeth at her coronation and a more recent one. She looked very special in both photos.
